JAMMU, Feb 21: Dr T. R. Raina, former Prof Head Blood Transfusion Department Government Medical College Jammu and former Programme Manager Blood Transfusion and Laboratory Services J&K attended the fourth meeting of experts in the field of Transfusion Medicine at National Institute of Biologicals, (NIB) Noida functioning under the Ministry of Health & Family welfare Government of India. The meeting was convened to finalise the National Reference Standard (NRS) for Anti-A and Anti- B Antisera (Blood Grouping Reagents).
Dr Raina was appointed as member of Technical Committee of Experts in the field of Transfusion Medicine by the National Institute of Biologicals to prepare the national Reference Standard for the reagents used in the Blood Banks across the country for the detection of Blood Groups in the human blood.
During the deliberations of the meeting, final approval was granted by the committee members for the National Reference Standard (NRS) for Anti -A and Anti-B sera to be used by all the Blood Banks of the country.
