SOS International, an organization for PoK displaced persons under the chairmanship of Rajiv Chuni observed October 22  as  black day. It was the day when Muzaffarabad district of J&K was first attacked by tribal in 1947 which was designed and organized by Pakistan.

The PoK DPs by wearing black ribbons on their shoulders lodged protest against the tribal attack on their ancestors. On the same day, tribals were hired by Pakistan with a conspiracy to change the demography of J&K by executing genocide of thousand of Hindus and Sikhs. Thousands of people were killed, women raped, young girls abducted and their whereabouts are still not known. Soon, after Muzaffarabad, such attacks were witnessed at Mirpur, Kotli, Bhimber, Poonch, Chammb, Gilgit and Askardu.
Tributes were paid to martyrs of Muzaffarabad who sacrificed their lives for the sake of J&K and rest of the nation. All-religions prayer was held for rest of martyrs’ souls of  Muzaffarabad (PoK).  Lalit Kumar, general secretary SOS International recited all-religious prayer (Sarv-Dharma Prarthana).
MJR-47 observed Martyrs Day today to pay tributes and homage to the 45,000  martyrs of the tribal raid in 1947 on the J&K State. Special prayers were held in all “Gurdwaras” and “Temples” across Jammu province. Such functions were also arranged in other States.
The members of the MJR-47 prayed for the eternal peace to the departed souls of the civilians as well as soldiers martyred in 1947. They  expressed  concern and joined hands to sympathize with those less fortunate who are still facing abject poverty and suffering under sub human condition living in refugees camp since 1947 as if in exile from their native places.
Jammu Kashmir Unity Foundation (JKUF) organised a seminar in this connection here today.  The seminar was organized on the theme “Oct 22, 1947 – Pakistan Military Invasion & World Silence on PoJK, Gilgit Baltistan”.  The main participants in the seminar were Shamsher Singh Manhas- MP, Ashok Khajuria- MLC, Sohail Kazmi- social activist,  Zorawar Jamwal, Chairman Team Jammu, Yuvraj Gupta, a native of Kotli (PoJK), Zafar Choudhary- social activist, Mohinder Charak- advocate, Rakesh Chargotra, advocate and Shailendra Aima- vice chairman Panun Kashmir.
Ajaat Jamwal,  convenor JKUF) said,  “We have again assembled here to observe 22nd October as the Black Day in the history of Jammu and Kashmir as on this day in 1947, Pakistan invaded Jammu and Kashmir and eventually captured 1/3rd of the State which is now known as Pakistan occupied Jammu and Kashmir.  He said Pakistan was created at the cost of millions of lives of the people of undivided India. Immediately after its creation, it attacked Jammu and Kashmir and killed lakhs of people to  capture a part of the State.
Mr Manhas, MP while addressing the gathering said that it is after 65 years that a Govt in New Delhi led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi  has resolved to bring the issue of  PoJK, GB into the national and international focus. We had almost allowed PoJK, GB to be forgotten. We had almost abdicated our responsibility to the people of PoJK, who are a part of Jammu and Kashmir.
Ashok Khajuria-MLC, Dr G Parthasarthi, Zorawar Singh and others also addressed the gathering. They said what Pakistan did in name of Islam and Jihad in 1947 is shameful. The Pak struck a deal with raiders telling that infrastructure/ land  belonged to Pakistan and the raiders were at liberty to loot and plunder everything else. Like hungry vultures they pounced on innocent and helpless people of Jammu and Kashmir. They looted them, burnt their property, raped women, kidnapped them.  Pakistan has not abandoned its ambition of capturing J&K. They have changed their strategies but have not changed their target.
