A brave son of India L/NK Nazir Ahmad Wani earned the highest peace time gallantry award the Ashoka Chakra and did his unit,Army, state and the country proud.
L/NK Nazir Ahmad Wani, became a terrorist, went to Pakistan understood the nefarious design of the enemy, came back surrendered ,joined the Indian Army ,fought the same terrorists earned two Sena medals, still did not rest in peace and got martyred fighting against the terrorists for his Nation.A great cause to celebrate the award of highest peacetime gallantry award to a great son of the soil.
Surprisingly the same set of people who raised a hue and cry on the killing of the terrorist Wani are silent.Is the loyalty of these people suspect or are they too scared to speak due to fear of retaliation by the terrorists. The TV channels which were shedding crocodile tears when the terrorist Wani was killed are also silent on the great son of India who earned the highest peace time gallantry award. I salute the great son of India and hope a lot of Kashmiri youngsters will follow in his footsteps. I sincerely hope the leaders of the state wake up and give due recognition to the brave son of the soil and encourage the youngsters to learn a lesson from the martyrdom of L/NK Nazir Ahmad Wani.
The least the state authorities can do is to have a scholarship or a sports tournament named after him.
