Wendy Doniger’s book “The Hindus: An Alternative History” published by Penguin has been withdrawn as a section of people felt that it was an insult to Hinduism. There is Freedom of Speech with certain restrictions as not to express or write things which may hurt the sentiments of people. But who decides whether it is within frame work of Freedom of speech or writing? Certainly there is legal recourse-it is another matter many people do not opt for it for obvious reasons. But in public interest one must fight it till Courts decide it is objectionable –fit for withdrawal or a ban?
Also vulgarity in Bollywood films must be stopped. It is increasing in present films (since last few years) as Censor Board is not doing its duty properly towards society on moral grounds .
