DLSA Samba organises cricket coaching camp for visually challenged

SAMBA, Feb 22: To promote the concept of Social Justice and to encourage the participation of youth in sports activities, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Samba organized a cricket coaching camp and tournament at Talli Ground, Mansar Morh, Samba for visually challenged persons in association with Police Department, Samba and Cricket Association for Blind J&K (CABJ&K).
The Coaching Camp / Tournament was inaugurated by Chairman DLSA (Principal District & Sessions Judge), Samba, Mohammad Akram Chowdhary, in presence of SSP Samba, Shakti Pathak, Secretary DLSA, Swati Gupta, Members of the Rotary Club, Para Legal volunteers and school children.
On the occasion, Chairman DLSA along with SSP, Samba and Secretary DLSA interacted with the cricket players and distributed sports shoes to facilitate their participation. In his address, Chairman DLSA commended the participants for their active participation in sports and also encouraged them to fully utilise their inherent will power and strength. SSP Samba also addressed the players and ensured them of support in their future sports endeavours.
The inaugural session of the tournament culminated with the presentation of vote of thanks by Vice President of the Association, Surjeet Singh Sumbria. The Cricket camp will continue on February 23, 2020 at the same venue.
