NEW DELHI, July 26: DLF5 relaunched Commodore Dalbir Singh Sodhi’s book ‘Kashmir Divine Connect and Sikh Rule’ and ‘Woman of substantial character’ at The Club Aralias.
The book was released on the occasion of Vijay Diwas to pay homage to the brave martyrs who laid down their lives fighting Pakistani intruders who misadventured in Kargil in 1999 forcing war on India.
Commodore Sodhi was present and the evening commenced with a two minute silence. All residents from The Aralias and The Magnolas present paid tribute to the brave martyrs as well as the unsung heroes who had to fight a very difficult battle against many odds such as high altitudes and harsh weather.
Naval Veteran Commodore D S Sodhi also spoke about various issues that have impacted the peace in Kashmir stressing that he was very positive that peace would return to the valley very soon. Stressing on the divine connect and composite culture of Kashmir, he brought out that it was for the people of Kashmir not to get carried away by nefarious designs of our adversaries, instead make a sincere attempt towards bringing peace and harmony in the State.
In a rare gesture, Commodore Sodhi set a personal example by donating cash and said all the proceeds from the sale of 100 books would go towards the Kargil War Widow’s fund. Commodore Sodhi also reinforced that it is the responsibility of each one of us to support the families of the martyrs in every little way possible.
