JAMMU, July 13: Divisional Commissioner, Sanjeev Verma today conducted a tour of Jammu City and took stock of works required for development of the ever-busy Jammu Airport to Bikram Chowk road.
He was accompanied by District Development Commissioner Jammu, Sushma Chauhan, Commissioner JMC, Avny Lawasa, Engineers of PWD, PDD and other concerned officers.
During the tour, the Div Com visited Jammu Airport, where he directed the concerned department to formulate a plan for development of the area envisaging maintenance of road, dividers, footpath, installation of view cutters, plantation on dividers besides installation of tree guards. He also directed the PWD to repair and maintain the approach road to the Airport.
The Div Com also visited Satwari Chowk and directed the concerned officers for development and beautification of the chowk. He suggested for drawing of wall paintings, road repairing, removal of old signboards and other works for the beatification and development of Satwari Chowk.
At Asia Chowk, the Div Com directed the concerned officers for drawing wall painting on remaining pillars depicting art and culture of J&K.
Meanwhile, the Div Com visited Bhagwati Nagar and directed the officers for cleanliness of area, cutting of bushes and road improvement. He directed the DDC Jammu to constitute a committee of concerned departments to formulate a plan, estimates for development works at these locations of Jammu City.
Earlier, the Divisional Commissioner chaired a meeting to review the progress on mega development projects of Jammu City.
The meeting was attended by DDC Jammu, Commissioner JMC, Chief Conservator of Forest, VC, JDA, RO NHAI, GM JKPCC, Chief Engineer, Jal Shakti, Chief Engineer, JPDCL, Chief Engineer I&FC, Project Manager Jammu Ropeway, Executive Director, MMJHS and other concerned officers.
The Divisional Commissioner sought project wise status report from the concerned officers. The representatives of departments apprised the Div Com about the present status of work on all the development projects being executed by their respective departments. They also informed about the works completed so far besides also informed about future work plans.
He directed the officers to expedite the pace of work on all the development projects being executed at various locations for their timely completion.
