JAMMU, Nov 18: Defeating Kishtwar in the summit clash, district Udhampur won the title trophy in the Handball Tournament, as part of the State Level U-25 Women Sports Competition, under Rajiv Gandhi Khel Abhiyan (RGKA), here.
The Tournament is being organized by the Department of Youth Services & Sports, under the patronage of Jahangir Mir, Director General Youth Services & Sports and under the overall supervision of Madan Lal, Jt. Director and Sukhdev Raj, DYSSO Jammu.
Udhampur defeated Kishtwar by three goals to nil (3-1). Mehak Sharma scored 2 goals and Nidhi netted 1 goal for Udhampur, while Leela Devi scored the lone goal for Kishtwar.
The match was officiated by Ajay Sharma, Gourav Sharma, Chander Shekhar and Pankaj Kumar.
In Hockey U-25 Women, Jammu beat Kishtwar by (3-0). Inpreet scored 2 goals and Ashu netted one goal for Jammu district.
Jammu will take on Poonch in the final tomorrow.
The matches were officiated by Harvinder Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Mandeep Singh and Satinder Pal.
In Athletics Under-25 Women 400 Mtrs, Manisha Devi of Udhampur won gold, Champa Devi of Ramban bagged silver and Simran Badyal of Jammu claimed bronze.
In Long Jump Under-25 Women, Shobha Devi of Udhampur clinched gold, Tabinda of Anantnag claimed silver and Sunita Devi of Reasi claimed bronze, while in Discus Under-25 Women, Shagufta of Ganderbal clinched gold, Florey of Kulgam won silver and Meena Devi of Reasi won bronze.
In Shot Put Under-25 Women, Shruti of Ramban won gold, Naseeba of Ganderbal got silver and Sakina of Anantnag claimed bronze, while in 1500 Mtrs Under-25 Women, Anu Devi of Jammu, Arti Devi of Reasi and Anju Devi of Jammu won gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.
