District Chess C’ship culminates

UDHAMPUR, Feb 27: District Udhampur Chess Championship concluded at Nehru Memorial High Secondary School, here.
In senior men category, Ravinder Atri and Sanyam Baria stood 1st and 2nd, whereas in senior women category, Mansha Mahajan and Amisha Sandal bagged first two places and in Under-19 girls, top two positions were won by Mansha Mahajan and Bhawna Sharma besides in Under-19 boys, Maninder Singh and Daksh Batyal clinched 1st and 2nd places respectively.
In Under-14 girls, Samriti Sharma and Meenakshi Devi secured 1st and 2nd position respectively, whereas in Under-14 boys, Akul Mengi stood 1st and Kannav Sharma got 2nd place and in Under-11 girl, Gurangi won first position besides in Under-11boy, Samarpartap Singh stood first and Abhiuday Singh bagged 1st position in Under-9 best player.
About 82 players participated in the championship, where Ravinder Singh (president of Small Scales Industry), Sanjeev Gupta (president of Indian Socialist Youth Front), Rohit Feria (president of Udhampur Chess Association) and Manorama Bharti (PEM) were the special guests who distributed prizes among winners.
