Kulgam, Jun 9: Acting on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Shahzad Alam (IAS), the District Administration on Tuesday carried out a demolition drive to remove structures allegedly encroaching upon the notified corridor of National Highway-444 (NH-444).
The operation was conducted under the supervision of Tehsildar Kulgam and SHO Kulgam, with active participation of officials from the Revenue Department and Jammu and Kashmir Police. During the drive, several structures falling within the designated NH-444 alignment were demolished to clear the encroached area.
Officials said the action was undertaken as part of the administration’s efforts to safeguard public land and ensure the smooth execution of highway-related works. The district administration reiterated its commitment to taking strict action against encroachments in accordance with law to protect vital infrastructure projects and public assets.
