PULWAMA, Dec 26: Minister for Revenue and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla today said that Coalition Government led by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is committed to the upliftment and development of the common masses across the State. He said with the cooperation and support of UPA led Government and its Chairperson Sonia Gandhi J&K is going to achieve new horizons of development.
The Minister was addressing a large gathering of people at Pulwama where he distributed ownership certificates of land under Roshni Scheme among 111 beneficiaries of Pulwama district involving 643 kanals of land.
Appreciating the role of Revenue Department Mr. Bhalla said despite the shortage of manpower Revenue Department is performing satisfactorily for the welfare and development of people. He said Revenue Department is playing a pivotal role for the development of State.
He urged upon the officers of Revenue Department to speed up the pace of work to dispose off the pending applications after proper scrutiny. He said that infrastructure of Revenue Department in district is being upgraded on modern lines besides more manpower will be made available soon.
He said Government is committed to provide every kind of facility at the doorsteps of the people and every department is bound for people friendly approach. He said people should cooperate with the Government and come forward for the betterment and development of the society.
Mr. Bhalla also inspected and took stock of the pace of ongoing works of Goripora Barsu bridge and fly over cum bridge at Galander which are being constructed under National Highway Developmental Plan by National Highway Authority of India. He urged upon the executing agencies to speed up the pace of work and complete the projects within stipulated time.
Later, Mr. Bhalla conducted extensive tour of Srinagar City and took stock of various developmental works being executed in the city.
Mr. Bhalla visited the commercial complex for rehabilitation of shopkeeper being displaced due to construction of Jehangir Chowk- Natipora Fly over, new OPD block of Lal Ded hospital and renovation work of Tagore Hall complex and took stock of progress of work. He exhorted upon the executing agencies to complete the tasks in time bound manner.
He also inspected the CA&PD office where he enquired about the stock position of the ration and LPG kept under stock. He was informed that adequate quantity of ration and LPG has been stocked.
During the extensive tour of Srinagar City, the Minister was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Baseer Ahmad Khan and other concerned officers.
