In a joint statement, All Ladakh Gonpa Association, LBA Youth Wing, LBA Women Wing and political leaders have condemned the statement of the P Stobdan.
“Such indecency and disrespect towards our spiritual leader Dalai Lama is unacceptable. Such attitude has the negative impact of setting a bad precedent on the future generation”, the statement reads.
He (Stobdan) has made a mockery of Buddhist religion in general and the people in particular. This should not go unnoticed.
“Dalai Lama is an international figure and has millions of followers and devotees all over the world and the language of this nature hurts the sentiments to the highest degree. Aksai Chin has always been an integral part of India and will always be so”, the statement reads.
Besides, his glorification of war in the region in the time of crisis when the Government itself is keen on resolving the issue through diplomacy is questionable. This has the danger of putting the hard-fought and hard-gained patriotism of the Ladakhi people in suspicion. He claims to be the representative of the Ladakh at the centre and we do not want to let go of all the sacrifices made by our people for the nation, the statement reads.
Religious sentiments when hurts, complicates a situation and a statement of this nature and the kind of language used by P Stobdan therefore is morally unpardonable and unacceptable to the public.
“The patriotic people of Ladakh have always stood side by side with our soldiers at times of several wars. We passionately believe and advocate that we have a duty to safeguard our motherland and our boundaries”, the statement reads further.
