JAMMU, July 6: Taking cognizance of alleged blackmailing and unlawful activities of one Amit Kapoor, who projects himself as leader of an un-registered `Parents Association’, Director School Education, Jammu has formally requested the Deputy Commissioner Jammu for appropriate action against the said `blackmailer’.
In a written complaint to the DC Jammu, DSEJ Anuradha Gupta has pointed out that this self proclaimed leader, who has a history of blackmailing and FIRs lodged against him, has been defaming the department officers without any basis.
Emphasizing that Amit Kapoor was hell bent upon misleading the parents and also provoking them to defy the government orders, the Director said various reports had been received that the said person was extorting money from gullible parents on the pretext of helping them.
“Not only this, some private schools have also been reportedly paying him money to stop him from doing hooliganism in their schools. There are several videos of him creating nuisance in school premises before and during the pandemic. It is therefore requested that directions may kindly be issued to the concerned Sub-Divisional Magistrate and the Station House Officers to stop him and a few of his supporters from assembling and disrupting the functioning of a Government office,” reads the formal communication by DSEJ to DC Jammu while drawing attention to a notice viral on social media about protest before the office of Directorate of School Education Jammu on Monday by the alleged blackmailer.
The Director has also urged that the said person may also be restrained from issuing any false and provocative statements on the issue of fee payment by parents to private un-aided schools so that gullible parents are not deceived, particularly when the department is addressing all their concerns.
Pertinent to mention that the Government has already issued an order regarding payment of only monthly tuition fee during the closure of schools while the Directorate of School Education, Jammu has also issued an advisory to private school managements to form school specific Parents’ Associations by involving one parent of each enrolled child so that all individual grievances of the parents can be addressed and all decisions to be made after taking Parents Association into confidence.
If the grievances of the parents still remain un-addressed, then same can be registered on the grievance portal of the Directorate or can be sent through e-mail, explained the communiqué while terming the protest during the pandemic condition as unlawful and uncalled for.
