Diploma engineers protest against manhandling of JE

KATHUA, June 2: Diploma engineers staged a demonstration in front of DC Office here today in protest against manhandling of a diploma engineer Sanjeev Sharma -a JE working in Sub Divisional office Basholi while he was on duty.
The protest was staged under the banner of All J&K Diploma Engineers Association led by engineer Upinder Singh its president. It also submitted a memorandum to the DC demanding immediate arrest of Sarpanch Surjeet Singh of village Nowshera (Mahnpur) who not only attacked the engineer but also snatched keys of his car and took away the vehicle which till date is in the custody of Sarpanch.
The Association appealed the local officers to act against the Sarpanch so that the justice is provided to aggrieved engineer. It also appealed the administration to take necessary measures to provide safety to the field staff working in PHE & PDD Departments.
The other engineers include Anil Gupta vice chairman of the Association, Narinder Singh vice president, Vijay Sharma general secretary, Naresh Sawhney, treasurer, Madan Gopal and Vinay Sharma, president of Udhampur unit of the Association.
