JAMMU, Aug 14: All J&K Diploma Engineers Association has warned the higher authorities to address their issues or get ready to face decisive agitation.
In a meeting of the Executive body of the organisation held here today, under the chairmanship of Upinder Singh, the members strongly projected the issues of the diploma engineers working in various departments. They alleged that their cadre of engineers is facing discrimination in terms of promotions and induction at various levels.
Singh said the Association has submitted memoranda to the State Government and top officers several times but their demands remained unaddressed. It has been stressed upon the authorities to adopt Punjab pattern to remove the stagnation among Diploma engineers at the level of JE, maintain cadre strength at AE, AEE and Executive Engineer level, enhancement of FTA from Rs 30 per month to one litre of petrol per day. Diploma engineers’ be accorded 20 % quota in promotions as decided by the Government. There is huge shortfall in the quota of diploma engineers in AEE and Xen cadre and it should be removed.
He said the issues were projected before the concerned ministers, DyCM Dr Nirmal Singh, Commissioner Secretary and others but no cognizance has been taken by any one. The engineers are being forced to launch decisive agitation.
Prominent among others present in the meeting included – Anil Gupta, J S Rathore, Vijay Sharma, Naresh Sawhney, Ravinder Singh, Rakesh Goswami, Jaipal Sharma, Sayed Tariq, Ishfaq Wani, Rajesh Sharma and Mohinder Singh.
