Dinesh, Gurvinder guide DYSS to register win over Press Cricket Club Jammu by 54 runs

JAMMU, Nov 28: Half centuries by Dinesh Sharma and Gurvinder Singh guided Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) team to register win over Press Cricket Club Jammu by a margin of 54 runs in the ongoing Nirbhay Bharat Foundation (NBF) T20 Friendship Cup, being played at JKCA ground, GGM Science College, here today.
Batting first after winning the toss, DYSS team scored 167 runs by losing only 2 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Dinesh Sharma played a splendid inning of 57 runs of 40 balls, while Gurvinder Singh also hitted some crispy shots and made 56 runs in 46 balls. Skipper Suresh Singh remained unbeaten on 19 runs off 16 balls, while Vikram Dogra scored 13 runs in 10 balls.
From Press Cricket Club Jammu side, Dinesh and Anil managed to scalp one wicket each.
In the second inning, the players of Press Cricket Club Jammu could not face the pace of DYSS team bowlers and bundled out at 113 runs by losing all the wickets in 19.3 overs. Gourav was the top scorer with 27 runs in 14 balls, while Shallu scored 24 runs in 22 balls. Dinesh made 18 runs of 16 balls and Rupesh scored 15 runs in 26 balls.
From DYSS side, Venus Partap Singh was the successful bowler who took 3 wickets by giving just 18 runs in 4 overs, while Mukesh Sharma took 3 wickets and Suresh Singh, Opinder Pal Singh, Vikram Dogra and Rajinder Sharma shared one wicket each.
Dinesh Sharma of DYSS team was adjudged as Man of the Match for his brilliant knock of 57 runs in 40 balls.
On the occasion, SP South Deepak Digra was the chief guest, while winner and runner up prizes were distributed by Tarun Uppal, Chairperson of Nirbhay Bharat Foundation.
