Digvijay writes to Ghulam Nabi Azad, demands enquiry into drug trial

NEW DELHI, Nov 5: AICC General Secretary Digvijay Singh today urged Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad to demand an enquiry into the drug trials on 100 people in a Madhya Pradesh hospital.
In his letter to Mr Azad, Mr Singh said,”I would like to bring to your notice a huge scandal that has taken place in government medical colleges of Madhya Pradesh where unsuspecting patients were made to undergo drug trials in which more than 100 people lost their lives.”
Charging the Shivraj Singh Chauhan Government of MP of shielding the culprits, Mr Singh said,”huge sums have been received by the doctors who have not followed the Government of India regulations in conducting these drug trials. The incumbent Government of MP is protesting these doctors. May kindly have this enquired into.” (UNI)
