DGP sanctions special welfare relief, financial assistance

SRINAGAR, July 19: With an aim to provide financial succor to the families of the police personnel who have passed away while in service, the Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh has sanctioned  special   welfare  relief  of Rs 1.82 crore. He has also sanctioned financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh for the marriage ceremony of martyred SPO’s daughter.
Special welfare relief of Rs 22 lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of dependents/legal heirs of deceased ASI Satish Kumar, ASI Tarseem Lal, HC Khalid Mehmood, HC Romesh Chander, W/HC Shakeela Akhter, HC Mohammad Yousf, HC Ghulam Hassan and Ct. Farhad Ali. These personnel have passed away due to illness, road accidents/ natural death while in service. Besides rupees six lakh has also been sanctioned in favour of NoKs of deceased SPO Sukhdev Raj who expired due to illness during the course of his engagement.
Rupees one lakh each has already been paid to NoKs of these deceased police personnel through their concerned units for performing last rites. The   special   welfare  relief  is sanctioned out of ContributoryPolice Welfare Funds.
The DGP has also sanctioned rupees one lakh as financial assistance in favour of NoKs of martyr SPO to defray the expenses in connection with the marriage ceremony of his daughter.
