DGP sanctions over Rs 11.76 lakh in scholarships for meritorious police wards

SRINAGAR, Aug 2: The Director General of Police (DGP), J&K, RR Swain has approved a scholarship fund of over Rs 11.76 lakh for 207 meritorious wards of police personnel based on their outstanding performance in the 2023-2024 academic session.
The funds, drawn from the J&K Police Welfare Fund, will be distributed in two categories: Class 12th and Class 10th.
For Class 12th students, Rs 5.78 lakh will be allocated to 93 wards, with Rs 7,200 awarded to those scoring 90% and above, and Rs 6,000 to those securing 80% and above.
Top scorers include Iqra Nissar daughter of Nissar Ahmad, Palak Gupta daughter of Narinder Gupta, and Mohsin Mushtaq son of Mushtaq Ahmad.
In the Class 10th category, Rs 5.78 lakh will be given to 144 students, with Rs 6,000 each for those achieving 90% and above, and Rs 4,000 each for those with 80% and above.
The leading students are Taqdees Zehra daughter of Imtiyaz Hussain Mir, Hayah Shah daughter of Mubashir Ahmad, and Saika Nazir daughter of Nazir Ahmad.
