DGP chairs high level joint security review meeting

SRINAGAR, Sept 21: The Director General of J&K Police, Dilbag Singh today presided over a high level joint meeting of officers to review the overall security scenario of Srinagar and districts of South Kashmir at Police Control Room Kashmir.
Addressing the meeting, the DGP appreciated joint efforts of J&K Police and other security forces for conducting various successful anti-terror operations adding: “We have to augment and enhance capabilities to achieve our targets.”
The DGP emphasized on revisiting the city and south Kashmir security grid plans and said that they must continue to deal strictly with elements involved in misguiding youth and pushing them towards terrorism. He directed the officers to strengthen area domination and night patrolling in grey areas and stressed for placing surprise Nakas and ambushes to check any suspect movement.
The DGP directed for the use of modern gadgets including drones and CCTVs for area domination and stressed for identifying gaps, if any, for desired results. He directed the jurisdictional officers to ensure the supervision of Nakas and deployments on regular basis. DGP Singh further directed for joint security meeting at district level for executing strategies and emphasized on adopting preventive measures to restrict the movement of anti-peace elements.
He directed forces to maintain pressure on anti-nation elements so that terror groups don’t get any chance of revival.
The DGP impressed upon the officers to work out strategies to further consolidate peace in J&K ensuring that civilians do not face any inconvenience.
Stressing for remaining more vigilant against terror support network who are helping terrorists to carry out their nefarious designs, the DGP directed for putting in utmost efforts to ensure terror free J&K.
