JAMMU, Apr 23: CRPF Director General (DG) Prakash Mishra today held high level review of security arrangements at holy cave shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi ji and base camp of Katra in Reasi district along with senior officers of CRPF, police and other security agencies.
SSP Reasi Sujit Kumar gave detailed briefing to Mishra on security arrangements at the shrine and the base camp. The CRPF officers also briefed the DG.
Mishra directed for strict surveillance at Katra town, 13 kilometers Katra-Bhawan track and the cave shrine. He called for fool-proof security arrangements for the pilgrims of Mata Vaishno Devi ji shrine. He issued instructions to the security agencies to take all possible measures to ward off any possibility of the strike by the militants.
Mishra had last week reviewed security situation in Srinagar.
Meanwhile, CRPF today cautioned that militants might try to repeat the Raj Bagh police station type of terrorist attack in the district.
“The CRPF needs to be vigilant as there is possibility that militants might try to repeat a Raj Bagh police station type of terrorist attack that took place earlier this month,” Director General of CRPF, Prakash Mishra told reporters in Kathua
He said that the focus needs to be on the tactical deployment and training of soldiers to meet out the challenges of militants and minimise the loss and casualties during the encounters.
“We are ready to face any challenge,” he said.
Mishra also met with CRPF jawan who were injured during the militants attack at police station Rajbagh. He also inspected the arms and ammunition recovered from the slain militants in Rajbagh encounter.
