JAMMU, June 7: Athrot a social and cultural society today released a song on Mata Kheer Bhawani. The song written by Athrot patron Kamal Peshin was released by Kiran Wattal a prominent citizen and head of Mata Kheer Bhawani Welfare Society.
Talking to media persons on the occasion Kanwal Peshin, patron Athrot, Arvin Tickoo, event coordinator, Ravi Dhar Music Director, Sunita Bhan Singer said Mela Kheer Bhawani is a prominent and most famous festival for Kashmiri Pandits, which is celebrated on Zesht Mass Ashtami. It is believed that Mata Raginya was born on this day and migrated from Lanka to Kashmir after Ravana developed ego. Mata ordered Lord Hanuman during Ramayana period when Sita was in Lanka to take her to a peaceful and sacred place, they added.
They said so Lord Hanuman took her to Kashmir and Mata has been to many places in Kashmir beginning from Manzgam, Logripora, and finally reached Tikker, in Kupwara district, Raithan in Budgam district and Tulmulla in Ganderbal district.
They said the later one is more prominent than other places and in early times devotees used to reach Tulmulla via boats. A temple in a spring with a colour changing water to show the impacts of country has been more attraction through out the years.
Mela Kheer Bhawani song is written by Kanwal Peshin and its music is given Ravi Dhar and it was sung by Sunita Bhan. The song is about the historical background of the day which is being celebrated this year on June 10. Nearly 60,000 yatries are expected to attend prayers at Tulmulla. Earlier it used to be a big festival before migration as devotees used to throng the temple well in advance and after displacement of people across the globe now use to come and attend prayers at this holy place.
They said Kheer Bhawani Yatra is going on from last 29 years from Jammu and we are happy that Mata Kheer Bhawani Ji Yatra Welfare Society headed by Kiran Wattal has been doing a great job by facilitating the yatra arrangements from last few years. Kiran Wattal said that this song is being released globally today so that it reaches all over the globe and devotees become aware about the historical background of the yatra to Kheer Bhawani.
He appreciated the Athrot team for their continuous efforts to revive culture and bringing in new events to keep community connected to religious ethos and culture the event was coordinated and managed by Arvin Tickoo. The song is in Hindustani language and it was shot in Tulmulla Kashmir.
