KATHUA, Oct 7: District Development Council (DDC) Kathua Chairman, Col Mahan Singh (Retd) asserted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken utmost care of the overall development of remote and far flung areas and the people living there for which his Government deserves full appreciation.
He was speaking after inaugurating 3.3 kilometers long NABARD road in Basantpur Panchayat of Keedia Gandyal Block today.
Dr Shaveta Kumar, DDC Keedian Gandyal, senior BJP leader Gopal Mahajan, Kaka Singh Vice President MC Lakhanpur, Soni Sonita Sarpanch Basantpur, Rajesh Kumar Mandal President, Capt Krishan Singh, Subash Singh and hundreds of villagers were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Col Mahan Singh asserted that the developmental activities have increased manifold since abrogation of Article 370 and 35A from the erstwhile State of Jammu and Kashmir.
He said that India today is a force to reckon with at the international level for which credit goes to PM Modi and the people of this nation who have reposed trust and faith in him.
Col Mahan said that 3.3 kilometers long road is being constructed at an estimated cost Rs 4.70 crore under PWD (R&B) Division Kathua. The much demanded road will connect atleast 4 different hamlets in Basantpur Panchayat and benefit more than 3000 residents.
The DDC Chairman said that more than 30 roads worth Rs 120 crores having total length around 100 kilometers are being constructed under NABARD to improve connectivity in district Kathua.
He asserted that the entire DDC Council is working as one team in cooperation with the civil administration to meet public aspirations and fulfill election promises made with the general public by the BJP.
