Deon’s team to lock horns with Purmandal in finals

SAMBA, Mar 23: Deon’s team will lock horns with the Purmandal team in finals of the ongoing Police Cricket tournament, organized at Purmandal under the overall supervision of SSP Samba, Benam Tosh, here today.
The tournament is being organized by Samba Police under Civic Action Programme (CAP) at Sports Stadium Purmandal and was declared open by Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Bari Brahmana Rahul Nagar in the presence of SHO PS Purmandal Vijay Verma.
A total 10 Cricket teams of boys from different areas of district Samba are participating in the tournament. The cricket tournament will be played on a knockout basis and cash rewards will be given away at the closing ceremony.
All the league matches have been played today with great enthusiasm among the players. The two semi-finals were also played between the top four winning teams from the league matches.
The 1st semi-final was played between team Deon and team Utterbehani-A, in which Deon emerged as winner, whereas 2nd semi-final was played between team Purmandal Cricket Club and Sangar Cricket team which was won by Purmandal Cricket Club.
SDPO Bari Brahmana Rahul Nagar urged upon the participating teams to play with team spirit and fervour. Such sports activities are being organized by J&K Police to provide a better platform for the sportspersons to explore their talents and channelize their energy in the right directions.
