JAMMU, July 30: Outplaying Kishan Chand Cricket Club (KCCC) Juniors convincingly in the finals, Sidhant Cricket Academy lifted the title trophy of the Hot Weather Under-15 Cricket Tournament, organized by KCCC under the chairmanship of Ankush Abrol, former Member BCCI and Working Committee Member JKCA at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here.
Former Minister and Senior Leader National Conference, Ajay Sadhotra was the chief guest on the occasion, while former MLA and leader National Conference, Rachpal Singh presided over the function.
The dignitaries distributed prizes among the winners and runners-up teams in presence of Ramesh Mahajan, former Chairman JKCA, Ankush Abrol, Desh Rattan Dubey, joint secretary JKCA, Rajesh Dhar, Chairman Media Committee JKCA and cricket promoters Dr Vikas Sharma, Rahul Mahajan and Shashi Pal.
Speaking on the occasion, Sadhotra said that Jammu and Kashmir possesses abundant cricketing talent and the need is to hone it in a better way, adding that it is good to watch young cricketers performing in a big way.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, KCCC Juniors bundled out for a paltry total of 71 runs in 26 overs. Musaif Ajaz top scored with 28 runs, while Aarav Mahajan contributed 10 runs to the total. For Sidhant CA, Arun Kalia was the wrecker-in-chief, who scalped 5 important wickets, while Vansh Koushal and Keshav Mahajan took 2 wickets each and Kumar Dhananjay claimed one wicket.
In reply, Sidhant Cricket Academy chased the target easily in 15.3 overs by losing 3 wickets, thus won the match by 7 wickets to lift the title. Kumar Dhananjay was the top scorer with unbeaten 44 runs, while Arun Kalia contributed 13 runs to the total. For KCCC Juniors, Praful Dhar and Dhruv Parmar took 1 wicket each.  Kumar Dhananjay was adjudged as the best batsman, while Nityam Abrol as best bowler. Aarav Mahajan was named as the most talented youngster in the Tournament. Sidhant Cricket Academy is being coached by Varinder Sharma, SAI Cricket coach and Incharge STC, MA Stadium, Jammu.
Apart from presenting individual kits and medals, better performers were presented leg-guards as gifts by the organizers.
The match was officiated by Sadiq Hussain Malik, Ashok Singh and Shiv Kumar.
