Delegations meet LG Ladakh

LEH, Feb 15: A delegation from Choskore constituency, Kargil. led by Bashir Ahmed, called on the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Retd), Dr B D Mishra, at the LG’s Secretariat.
Commissioner/Secretary, Dr Vasanthakumar N; Secretary to LG, Ravinder Kumar; Secretary, Michael D’Souza; Director of Health Services, Dr Motup Dorje and Deputy Secretary, Education, Sumera Shafi, were in the meeting.
Bashir requested the LG to upgrade Govt Middle School Archo-Choskore to Govt High School. He also requested to sanction lift irrigation for Chutuk and the installation of mobile towers to improve the telecommunication network for Sapi village. He further requested the construction of the Animal Husbandry Centre building for Choskore constituency
Bashir requested the construction of a playground for children. He also requested the LG for his intervention in providing potable drinking water to the people of Choskore constituency.
The LG asked Bashir to submit the proposal regarding the lift irrigation project and the construction of the Animal Husbandry Centre and playground for children to Chairman/CEC LAHDC Kargil. He asked the Education Department to look into the feasibility of upgrading Govt Middle School to High School. He also asked Michael to look into the issue of providing potable drinking water to the people of Choskore constituency.
Meanwhile, a delegation comprising daily wagers/labourers working at Defence Institute of High-Altitude Research (DIHAR) led by Deachen Dolker also called on the LG.
Deachen informed the LG that salaries of daily wagers/labourers like her, working at DIHAR have not been enhanced since 2019 and also the non-entitlement of leaves to them.
The LG assured the daily labourers that their case has already been taken up with Chief Labour Commissioner, Government of India regarding moving them from Area C to A so that they receive better salaries.
A delegation from GM Pore, led by former Executive Councillor, Skalzang Wangyal Gara, also called on the LG and expressed gratitude to the UT Administration for providing Gynaecologist and other medical staff for Government Hospital GM Pore and for carrying out work of upgradation of Govt High School at GM Pore.
