KATHUA, Nov 14: Maintaining that the development has picked up in the State during the Governor’s rule and people are satisfied with it, BJP national general secretary and Incharge J&K, Ram Madhav today said that it (Governor rule) will continue up to middle of next month till its six months term expires and what happens next will be reviewed later.
Talking to reporters, here, late last night on the sidelines of a meeting with BJP Councilors of Kathua Municipal Council (KMC), Madhav said every body will come to know about the next decision after middle of December when the term of Governor’s rule expires in the State. “People at present are happy with it as Governor is doing a good work and that is why BJP has decided to continue the Gove-rnor rule.”
Madhav said Governor Satya Pal Malik is doing a good work and the development agenda of the Government has taken up pace during the last five months. The people of the State are happy and they want that the Governor rule should continue as a good atmosphere has been created in the State. Therefore, BJP too favours continuation of this rule, he added.

He, however, said what decision will be taken after the term of Governor’s rule ends next month every one will come to know about that and media will also be informed accordingly. But at present Governor is doing a good job, he added.
The BJP leader said the action against terrorism has been intensified and there will be no let up in the same.
In response to a question about the ongoing political process in the State, Madhav said it will continue and holding of ULB and Panchayat polls is also a part of the political process.
Regarding sniper attacks by Pakistan on Indian soldiers on Line of Control in which three jawans and a porter attained martyrdom during last four days, the BJP leader said that Indian security forces are capable and competent enough of facing any challenge.
Maintaining that the terrorism is being fought forcefully, Madhav said the fight against it will continue till it is completely weeded out from the State.
The BJP leader also averted a direct reply to a question regarding abrogation of Article 370 of Indian Constitution saying the matter is in the Supreme Court and said “we all should wait for the Court verdict.”
Accusing the NC and the PDP of trying to scuttle the democratic process, Madhav asked them to clear stand on whether they would participate in State Assembly elections or boycott them, like they did during the Local Bodies polls.
Hitting out at the parties who boycotted the elections, Madhav said their hypocrisy stands exposed as they first boycotted the ULB polls but are now pressing for dissolution of Assembly for fresh elections.
“On one hand they say they will not take part in elections to safeguard Article 35A, on the other, they demand dissolution of Assembly and fresh elections. Tomorrow if Assembly elections are held, will they fight or continue boycott”, he asked?
The BJP leader asked if the two parties decide to participate in the State polls, “what will happen to Article 35A, which they used as a pretext to stall the ULB elections.”
He accused the two parties of playing irresponsible role by giving the boycott call as they don’t want that the power should percolate down in the hands of people at grass root level. “They took part in (Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council Elections) in Kargil polls but boycotted the ULB polls to scuttle the democratic exercise. However, people taught them a good lesson and forced them to take part in Panchayat polls,” Madhav said.
Asked whether the time has come for another “surgical strike” across the border, he said the security forces would review the situation and “whatever is required will be done by them”.
He said if success of democracy ensures the prosperity of people hence these parties should come forward and participate in elections for the greater good of the people of the State.
While taking a dig at the two Kashmir centric parties, Madhav accused them of playing duel politics. He appealed the people to teach both the parties a lesson especially in coming Parliamentary elections.
In response to a question that some BJP Councilors have resigned in Kashmir, he said that large number of people have joined the party also and best example of it is the Kathua district. Moreover those who left the party will be brought back, he added.
He said the party performed better in Srinagar during recent ULB elections and Mayor of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) has been elected with BJP support.
