POONCH, Mar 23: The dead body of a 50-year-old villager was recovered from the bank of Poonch river near Sher-e-Kashmir bridge here this morning.
The deceased has been identified as Mohd Shafi, son of Baya Gujjar, resident of Bandi Chechiyan village. He was residing in a small rented accommodation near the river bank and was working as labourer. Some people notice dead body and informed police. The police party rushed to the site and later shifted it to District Hospital for postmortem.
No external injury was visible on the body of the deceased. The police registered a case and started investigation under Section 174 CrPC.
