DDOs to be held responsible for absenteeism

RAJOURI, Apr 27: District Administration, Rajouri has directed that DDOs, Controlling Officers and concerned District Officers will be held responsible for absenteeism of field staff in ensuing inspections of offices.
In wake of many employees found absent during surprise inspections it was felt necessary to take action against erring supervisory officers for weak internal control mechanism and lack of administrative command which hampers public service delivery.
As per a circular issued by the District Development Commissioner Dr Shahid Iqbal, it has been enjoined upon the district and sectoral officers to conduct frequent scheduled administrative inspections of field offices and ensure attendance of employees. Action will be initiated against senior officers wherever employees are found absent from duty.
The DDOs have been directed to ensure that guidelines laid down for station permission, casual leave and deputation on official duty are followed.
Meanwhile, a fine of Rs 48,000 was imposed on officials of Animal and Sheep Husbandry Department found absent during inspection earlier this month.
