Kupwara, Dec 14: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara Khalid Jahangir today reviewed the status of different ongoing development works.
DDC visited various villages within Kupwara constituency and reviewed the status of different ongoing development works to ensure implementation of Chief Minister directions, which she issued during her visit to the district.
While inspecting the functioning of drinking water schemes at Gazriyal, DDC interacted with the public for resolving the issues between some respectable of the Gazriyal area. He assured the public of the area that drinking water supply will be provided to all the habitants as per the availability.
During interaction, it was made clear that necessary steps for early implementation of the scheme will be taken by the concerned authorities so that available funds can be utilized during current financial year. He also sought cooperation of all the stakeholders for resolving the dispute.
ACR Kupwara, SE Hydraulic, Xen PHE Kupwara, Tehsildar Kralpora besides other officers accompanied the DDC.
Later, DDC Kupwara along with all officers carried out detailed inspection of Gazriyal SR and enquired about the water sources and position obtaining on ground. Alternate water resources including restoration of well and springs were also inspected for arriving at a solution.
While inspecting the Gushie-Pazipora water supply scheme, DDC directed the executing authority to submit their report of functioning of the scheme with their recommendations within two days positively, so that further action will be initiated in this regard.
At Drugmulla, the PHE authorities were asked to take up construction of dug well immediately. He also directed the PHE authorities to lift the water for existing scheme through Nalla-Khamil besides explore possibilities to remove old piping network at Drugmulla area.
Several public deputations met the DDC Kupwara and other team of officers during the tour and projected their demands and urged for speedy implementation of CM commitments, which she made during her Kupwara tour.
