DDC Rajouri discusses issues hampering execution of development projects

RAJOURI, Feb 8: As many as 12389 eligible families of district Rajouri have been provided Houses under Prime Minister Awas Yojana – Grameen (PMAY-G) till date, while renovation work on 85 PMGSY roads is on across Bhudal and Rajouri Sub Divisions of the district.
The information was given at a meeting chaired by District Development Commissioner, Vikas Kundal here today convened to review the action taken on the issues projected in the meeting chaired by the Commissioner Secretary to Government, Forest, Ecology and Environment (District Prabhari), Sanjeev Verma.
Officers present in the meeting included ADDC, Pawan Kumar; DFO Rajouri, Arsheep Singh; DFO Nowshera, Neelima; ACD, Sushil Khajuria; ACP, Abdul Rashid Kohli; CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; SE Hydraulics, JP Singh; SE PWD, Nissar Hussain; PO ICDS, Kartar Singh; DSEO, Bilal Rashid Mir; CMO, Dr Shamim In Nissa Bhatti; DSHO, Dr Sarfraz Naseem Chowdhury; CHO, Madan Lal and other concerned officers.
The meeting was informed that an amount of Rs 919 crore have been approved under the District Capex budget.
The DC asked the concerned departments to expedite the pace of work on the projects, while taking note of slow expenditure.
About the status of Koteranka to Khawas road under languishing scheme, the SE PWD informed that the work on the project would be started within the shortest possible time.
The concerned officers also informed that the renovation work on 48 roads across Rajouri and 37 roads in Budhal subdivision is in progress.
While reviewing the progress made under MGNREGA, the DDC directed the concerned officer to ensure that all the ongoing works are completed within the already set deadlines. He also asked to take concrete measures to achieve the yearly target of mandays generation.
Regarding the soil conservation works under District Capex, the concerned officer apprised that 07 works were approved and all of them are complete in all respects.
Discussing the progress under PMAY-G, it was informed that 12389 houses have been constructed in the district till date. The DDC instructed the concerned officers to ensure release of installments to the beneficiaries of the scheme.
Regarding the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission, it was informed that IEC activities under JJM are being conducted to educate the public about water related issues.
The DDC also asked for concrete measures to enhance the female literacy rate in the district.
While reviewing the progress concerning the construction of community sanitary complex, the concerned officer informed that 123 CSCs have been completed till date.
