DCC seeks clarification from Guv on advisory to tourists, pilgrims

JAMMU, Aug 3: District Congress Committee has appealed the Governor and Union Home Minister to clear the air on advisory issued to pilgrims and tourists, which has created a state of panic in the State.
“Few days back the Government was patting its back for the successful Amarnath Yatra arrangements and suddenly cancelled the Yatra in an unceremonious manner, which has hurt the sentiment of Hindu community,” DCC president, Vikram Malhotra said and asked the Government to explain why it failed to complete the Yatra.
Malhotra was addressing DCC meeting, which held here today to take stock of the emerging situation in the State in the wake of cancellation of the Amar Nath Yatra and evacuation of Yatris and tourists from the valley after advisory issued by the State Government.
Raman Bhalla, former Minister and vice president of JKPCC said that the Government has failed on all fronts and thus it failed to provide security to Yatris. He said on one hand the BJP is talking of holding elections in the State and on other hand the Government has failed to secure the Yatris and tourists. He asked the cadre to remain vigilant and not fall prey to rumor mongering of social media.
The leaders urged the cadre of Block and Wards to remains in touch with people at the grass rout level and make them aware of the double speak of the BJP. The cancellation of Machail Yatra was also widely condemned by the leaders.
Among other senior leaders of DCC, BB Gupta, Dr Rama Kant Khajuria, Madan Lal Malagar, Mian Nazir Ahmed, Ram Prakash Magotra, Som Raj, Gourav Chopra, Chaman Lal, Ch Dwarka Choudhary, Camres David, Mu-din Choudhary, Nasir Masih, Th Rashpal Singh, Deepak Mehra, Meenakshi Arora, Manmohan Sharma, JL Koul, Pawan Dev Singh , Prashotam Mehra and Balbir Singh spoke on the occasion.
