LEH, Aug 29: Deputy Commissioner & Chief Executive Officer, LAHDC, Leh Sachin Kumar Vaishya convened a meeting to discuss about the arrangements for 8th edition of Ladakh Marathon to be held on September 6 and 8, 2019 at DC Conference Hall today.
The meeting was attended by ADDC, Leh Moses Kunzang, representatives from Army, Air Force, Himank, Police and head of concerned departments and Founder & Race Director Chewang Motup.
After a threadbare discussion, DC Leh assured the organizers of full support by administration and served on spot instructions to the concerned Ex-En to provide all kinds of requirements during the Marathon.
He urged them to keep close coordination and communication for effective and befitting conduct of Marathon.
Event organizer Chewang Motup while addressing the meeting said that the Ladakh Marathon is now listed in the World Marathon calendar and is certified by AIMS/IAAF and it has become one of the most prestigious marathon’s making it every runner’s dream to run Ladakh Marathon.
He appreciated the administration for their full support in all the past events and also requested for same support and guidance in the forthcoming event.
He further added that the aim and objective of holding Marathon is to provide job opportunities for youth, promote tourism, generate income for stakeholders during off-season period and also boost the local economy in general.
