KATHUA, Aug 18 – District Development Commissioner Ajay Singh Jamwal today convened a public grievances redressal camp at Tehsil Office Ramkote and assessed people’s genuine problems.
During the camp, the people of Ramkote demanded supply of regular ration, provision for new water schemes, removal of encroachments and highlighted shortage of staff in Primary Health Centre in Ramkote.
The problem of water logging due to rain water in main nallah was also projected by the locals.
DDC listened the demands and complaints of the people patiently.
While taking serious note of complaints of encroachments, DDC passed on-spot-instructions for identifying such encroachers and removal of the illegal structures constructed on Government land. He called for prompt action for removal of encroachments after verifying the revenue record.
He appealed the people to care of natural water resources in their areas like ponds, streams, wells etc and plant trees to make surroundings green. He said people must take the Swatch Bharat Abhiyan seriously as it is for the betterment of all stakeholders of the society. He said that encroachment of the state land will not be tolerated and strict action will be taken against those found grabbing the Government land especially Kha-Chrai land.
DDC also directed SDM Billawar to go for mass plantation in the entire tehsil especially in Government institutions.
He said that there is immense scope of multi farming in the area and appealed the people to take the benefit of various schemes of Agriculture and allied departments.
While responding to the issue of frequent power curtailment, DDC appealed people to cooperate with tehsil and district administration to identify and remove illegal power connections to improve power scenario.
He also directed concerned department to speed up the repair work of Dyala Chack-Chllan road and also called for speeding up the work on Thein road which was washed away due to recent rains.
DDC also asked for upgradation of Kah-Samna Banj road under PMGSY. He inspected PHC, Ramkote and enquired about the facilities and cleanliness.
DDC also visited Raja Ki Mandi and reviewed the scope for reviving old ponds and other wayside amenities.
