DB’s directive on shifting of courts to DC office complex

JAMMU, Sept 26: In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Bar Association, Kishtwar through its President I A Hamal seeking handing over of entire Deputy Commissioner’s office complex for use of District Courts Complex Kishtwar, Division Bench of the State High Court comprising First Puisne Judge Justice Ramalingam Sudhakar and Justice B S Walia today directed the Senior AAG to file compliance of the order dated August 30, 2016.
When this PIL came up for hearing, Advocate Sheikh Shakeel Ahmed with Advocate Sheikh Najeeb Ashraf submitted that the State Government has not passed the orders for shifting of the courts to old revenue complex Kishtwar. He further submitted that on August 30, the Division Bench had directed the Senior AAG to file the compliance report and also to ensure the orders for shifting.
Senior AAG Seema Shekhar on the other hand submitted that the Revenue Secretary had gone for Haj and she has also taken-up the matter with the Law Secretary and the matter is under process. She undertook to file the compliance report before the next date of hearing.
After considering the submissions of both the sides, Division Bench directed Senior AAG to file the compliance report within 3 weeks.
