JAMMU, Oct 31: In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking directions to State for providing proper infrastructure and security in the Court Complex at Janipur, Division Bench of High Court comprising Justice Hasnain Massodi and Justice Tashi Rabstan has issued notice to Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary Home, IGP Jammu, SSP Jammu and MD JKPCC.
The DB also arrayed Commissioner Secretary Law and Parliamentary Affairs and Registrar General of High Court as party respondents and issued notice to them.
The DB directed Registrar General, Commissioner Secretary Law and IGP to make a joint inspection of the District Courts complex Janipur at peak hours and submit a compliance report detailing the available parking areas, number of vehicles parked within District Court complex and other areas, availability of advocates parking space within District Court complex and High Court.
After hearing hearing Senior Advocate Sunil Sethi with Advocate Veenu Gupta, the DB further directed Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation to take steps to clear bushes/shrubs from the area around the District Court complex as well as the High Court complex so that the advocates and the litigants may not face any uncertainty.
The DB directed the Registry to list the PIL on November 18, 2013.
