Damana Jaguars to take on RS Pura Arsenals in JHPCL summit clash

JAMMU, Oct 23: Defeating their rivals convincingly in the semifinals, Damana Jaguars and RS Pura Arsenals have made it to the finals and will lock horns with each other in the summit clash of the ongoing Jagruk Hindustani Premier Cricket League (JHPCL), being organized by Army, at Zorawar Stadium at the Sunjuwan Military Station, here.
In the first semifinal, Damana Jaguars drubbed Jammu Janbaz by a narrow margin of 17 runs.
Earlier, winning the toss and bating first Damana Jaguars scored a fighting total of 131 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 9 wickets in the process. Rohan Koul contributed well made 19 runs to the total.
In reply, Jammu Janbaz managed to score 114 runs in the allotted overs, thus lost the match by 17 runs. Rohan Koul was the pick of the bowlers from Damana Jaguars, who took 4 important wickets and helted his team to emphatic victory. For his extraordinary performance, Rohan was adjudged man of the match.
In another semifinal, RS Pura Arsenals got better of Samba Sunrisers by a big margin of 46 runs. Batting first, Arsenals scored a decent total of 140 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, while in reply, Sunrisers bundled out for a paltry total of 94 runs in 15.4 overs, thus lost the match by 46 runs. Tarsem Singh of Arsenals was adjudged as man of the match for scoring brisk 17 runs and taking 3 important wickets.
According to the organizers, the final match of the Tournament will be played on October 26, 2015 at the same venue and in the valedictory function to be held soon after the final match, Deputy Chief Minister, Nirmal Singh will be the chief guest.
“The Tournament is being organized to provide opportunity to the cricketers to showcase their talent and hone their skills,” organizer claimed.
