JAMMU, Feb 14: The 45 days cutting and stitching training programme, organized by Sarveshwar Smile Foundation, a J&K based NGO in collaboration with Maharaja Hari Singh Foundation and Kapur Foundation, culminated with felicitation of trainer and trainees of Suchetgarh Salai Centre at Hari Palace,
The chief guest of the function was Ritu Singh. In her address, she talked on the importance of such training which gives empowerment to women for their better livelihood and in continuation of this mission, she assured the participants about some orders going to be given to them which will generate some income in their hands.
She also announced the collaboration of Maharaja Hari Singh Foundation and Ashok Kapur with Sarveshwar Smiles Foundation for a brand Bhumika, wherein these trained women will stitch various temple line products and this will be made available to the public on various stores/ temples under brand Bhumika.
She also provided the samples for commercial preparation of the temple line products which will directly generate the income for women of border areas.
Pooja Gupta, chairperson of Sarveshwar Smiles Foundation conveyed that the Foundation is going to organize six such training camps at various places preferably at border areas with follow up to ensure income generation activity at the doorstep of trainees.
“The Foundation will propagate all this through its satellite facilitation centre located presently at Uddeywala, Palloura, Pallanwala, Jhiri, RS Pura and Pargwalm” she said, adding that three more such centers are going to be opened at field level.
Dr Rakesh Gupta, Project Director informed that the mission of the Foundation is to bring smiles on faces of rural poor, farming community, border area women and senior citizens of Jammu and adjoining areas.
Dr Gaytri stressed on the importance of organic farming and role of women in supporting the family by generating additional income. She also conveyed her thanks to Kuvrani Ritu Singh for sparing her valuable time for the opening and closing ceremony of the camp.
