JAMMU, July 10: Cut & Curve Cricket Club, Samba register 4 runs win over Sangwali-XI in the keenly contested summit clash and lifted the title trophy of the Jai Baba Birfa Nath Ji Premium League Tournament, played at Jatwal Cricket ground.
Batting first after winning the toss, Cut & Curve Cricket Club Samba scored 160 runs in 15 overs.
In reply, Sangwali-XI failed in chasing the target and bundled out at 156 runs for all out, thus lost the match by just 4 runs.
On the valedictory function, former MLC Subash Chander Gupta was the chief guest, who awarded the players of both the teams and also presented the title trophy to the skipper of Cut & Curve Cricket Club Samba in presence of organizers Rajesh Sharma, Amit Kumar and Varun.
Subash Gupta while speaking expressed hope of organising such type of tournaments in future also. He exhorted upon the youth to come forward and channelize their energies in sports activities. He urged the youth to refrain from smoking, drugs and liquor.
Naresh Sharma, Ex-president MC Kathua, Dewan Khajuria, Devinder Singh, Sarpanch Vijay Tagotra, Jug Ram, Satpal Choudhary, Kant Kumar, Tarsem Singh, Brijeshwar Singh, Jai Ram, Raj Kumar Khajuria, Chanan Singh Sasan besides large number of people were present on the occasion.
