JAMMU, Feb 28: The 25th University Works Building Committee of Central University Jammu (CUJ) was held here today for detailed discussion on the coming up projects.
The meeting was presided over by Prof Sanjeev Jain, Vice Chancellor, CUJ, who apprised the members about various infrastructure projects under progress for enhancing the Academic & Hostel facilities for students.
At present two 500 bedded hostels, one Academic Block and Library cum Administration block are being constructed by the University. At present only one 100 bedded Boys Hostel is functional on the campus. A new 100 bedded Girls Hostel is likely to be completed by June, 2023 which will add to residential capacity of the University. Besides these, one 33/11 KVA Receiving Station is completed and ready for operationalization pending some approvals from Ministry of Environment for providing ROW for conductors for 33 KV Line from Bari Brahamana-II Feeder.
University is in process of implementing many new projects in next four months and these include University Gate Complex, Vice Chancellor Residence, Prefabricated Academic Block and five High Mast Lights.
External experts from various fields, who attended the meeting, included Dr C M Seth, former Chairman Pollution Control Board, J&K; Kafeel Ahmad Ferozi, Chief Architect, Architect Organization J&K; Er Ravinder Mansotra, Chief Engineer (Retd), JKERA; Dr Sanjeev Kumar Gupta, HOD, Deptt. Of Civil Engineering, GCET and Ashok Chibber, Executive Engineer, JPDCL, STD-II.
Senior University Professors and officials also attended the meeting. They included Prof Devanand, Dean, School of Basic & Applied Sciences; Prof B S Bhau, Dean, School of Life Sciences; Prof Vinay Kumar, Department of Physics & Astronomical Sciences; Dr Yashwant Singh, I/c Registrar, CUJ; Mohd Iqbal, I/c Finance Officer, CUJ and Er Vishal Bargotra, Executive Engineer CUJ.
After the meeting, members visited the sites where projects are going on.
