NEW DELHI, Mar 24: Crude oil futures fell by 0.96 per cent to Rs 6,062 per barrel today after participants trimmed positions amid a weakening trend in the Asian trade on weak Chinese manufacturing data.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in April shed Rs 59, or 0.96 per cent, to Rs 6,062 per barrel in 3,503 lots.
In a likewise manner, oil for May delivery moved down by Rs 55, or 0.90 per cent, to Rs 6,052 per barrel in 117 lots.
The trading sentiment eased at futures trade as crude oil prices fell in Asia on demand fears after data suggested that China’s manufacturing activity contracted in March to its weakest rate in eight months, analysts said.
Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude for May delivery was down 19 cents to USD 99.27 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange in mid-morning trade today. (PTI)
