JAMMU, May 20: Jammu Sector CRPF Inter Bn (Ops)/GC Handball and Kabaddi tournaments were held at Group Centre CRPF Hiranagar at Nagrota, here.
14 teams of various Units and Institutions in Jammu region participated in the competition.
In Handball, 38 Bn CRPF emerged winner and 166 Bn CRPF was the runner-up, while in Kabaddi, 33 Bn CRPF was the winner and 187 Bn CRPF was the runner-up.
Chandra Bhushan, DIG Group Centre CRPF Hiranagar congratulated the winners and participants on the closing ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, he threw light on the importance of games and sports in the present era.
He also handed over trophies and medals to the winners and runner-up teams and players.
The tournaments were witnessed by a large number of officers and Jawans. It is pertinent to mention here that such tournaments play vital role in boosting the morale of the forces, besides encouraging young talent.
CRPF has always given special importance to games/sports in troops’ lives.
