Dubai : IPL 2020, the major event for cricket fans, has been scheduled in UAE with three major cities hosting the cricket matches. The IPL 2020 event was shifted to UAE this season due to COVID-19 pandemic and there won’t be any cricket fans in the stadium this year. While cricket fans will miss the action on the ground, there are many options to enjoy IPL matches on TV, online and mobile devices.
Cricket fans are not new to changing fortunes of IPL franchisees and team members as cricket matches can be highly unpredictable. During the current season, Rahul Tewatia hammered Sheldon Cottrell for five sixes in an over. In the match between Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab, Tewatia came to bat after captain Steve Smith was dismissed at an early stage. Tewatia’s inning has been crucial for the team.
As per cricket experts Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders have 7 out of 10 chance of winning the IPL trophy this season. However, the current team rankings suggest something totally different. Only 10 matches have been played so far and it will be too early to comment on performance of teams but Deccan Chargers, Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore are leading the charts right now. The teams with higher chances of winning, CSK, MI and KKR are lagging behind, winning just one out of three matches played.
As cricket fans guess the odds of their teams winning the trophy this year, betting experts and enthusiasts are busy working out the calculations on which team has higher chances of winning. The betting market has higher reward for teams with lower chances of winning.
Sanju Samson became a household name after hitting many boundaries against Kings XI Punjab and Chennai Super Kings. Talking about his strong performance in the current season, Samson added that he is only focused on his game and offers his best performance. Samson, 25, has been compared to MS Dhoni and Gautam Gambhir in media. But, Samson rejected the comparison by saying, “I am sure that no one can and no one should try to play like MS Dhoni.”
In 10 matches played so far for IPL 2020, 153 sixes have been scored on the ground. Out of them, the biggest surprise came from Sanju Samson and Rahul Tewatia. Samson managed to score 74 runs in just 32 balls against Chennai Super Kings, leading Rajasthan Royals to an easy victory in Indian Premier League 2020.
Shane Warne, spinning legend from Australia, also commented on Samson’s strong performance in IPL 2020. Warne questioned why Samson isn’t part of Team India.
While experienced cricket players like MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma, Chris Gayle, Gautam Gambhir act as reliable pillars of their teams, young players like Sanju Samson, Rahul Tewatia, Kartik Tyagi, Priyam Garg, Tom Banton and Yashashvi Jaiswal can surprise cricket fans with their talent.
IPL offers a strong platform for young talent players to prove themselves for entry in Team India. Yashaswi Jaiswal from Rajasthan Royals and Abdul Samad from Sunrisers Hyderabad are just 18 years old. Prithvi Shaw, Kamlesh Nagarkoti from Delhi Capitals and Ravi Bishnoi from Kings XI Punjab are just 20 and they have a long way to go.
IPL 2020 will surely be a power-packed and interesting event for cricket fans to remember till the next season of IPL. (Disclaimer–Features may vary depending on the regions; subject to change without notice.) (AGENCIES)
