JAMMU, Mar 6: Career Point University (CPU), Hamirpur Himachal Pradesh has now been registered by the Department of Social Welfare, Government of J&K to offer post-metric scholarship to SC, ST, OBC, physically handicapped, widows and other students.
This will be beneficial for students of Jammu and Kashmir who fall in these categories to avail the scholarship for higher studies.
Registrar of the University Dr Sanjeev Sharma said that CPU has been established under Himachal Pradesh Government Act CPU Act, 12/2012, Section 2, UGC Act. “The University is accredited by the UGC and is a member of AIU. The students of J&K now will be eligible for the award of scholarship as per schemes of the Government of India and J&K Govt. The university is offering courses in Engineering, Law, Management, Pharmacy, Basic and Applied Science, Hotel Management, Computer Science Application etc”, he informed.
Pramod Maheshwari, renowned academician and IIT Delhi alumnus is the Chancellor of the University. Professor PL Gautam, renowned Agricultural Scientist is the Pro-Chancellor of the University and Professor KS Verma is the Vice Chancellor of the University.
