After hearing Additional Public Prosecutor Sarwesh Kumar for the State whereas Advocate Ashok Sharma appearing for the accused person, the court observed, rape is one of the most heinous crimes committed against a woman. It insults womanhood, violates the dignity of a woman and erodes her honour”, adding “rapist not only violates the victim’s privacy and personal integrity but inevitably causes serious psychological as well as physical harm in the process”.
“There is force in the contention of APP that in case accused is released on bail, he will jump over the bail and hamper and tamper with the prosecution witnesses.
