Cop ends life at Guest House

JAMMU, Dec 20: A police constable shot himself dead during guard duty at Guest House along Canal Road, where Union Home Secretary, Anil Goswami was staying.
The constable has been identified as Mushtaq Ahmad, posted in 19th battalion of Indian Reserve Police (IRP) and a resident of Tangmarg, Baramulla.
Police said the IRP has been stations at Yatri Niwas, Canal Road and its personnel had been deployed on special duty at Guest House, where Mr Goswami was staying during his visit.
He shot himself dead with his service weapon-a Self Loading Rifle (SLR).
Police personnel shifted the constable to Government Medical College (GMC), Jammu, where he was declared as dead.
The bullet had pierced from his throat to head, leading to his on spot death.
Police have registered a case in the death of the constable for investigating reasons behind the suicide.
