Cong protests price hike of LPG cylinders

UDHAMPUR, July 2: The Congress activists today held strong protest demonstration against hike in price of cooking gas cylinders (LPG) here today,
The protest demonstration was organized by senior Congress leader and INTUC State secretary Sumeet Magotra at Salathia Chowk just near the office of Deputy Commissioner Udhampur in which a large number of Congress activists were present. Demonstrators were raising slogans against Government of India for continuous hike in prices of cooking gas cylinder.
They also blocked Dhar Road near Salathia Chowk for some time.  While addressing a huge gathering  Magotra  said it is unfortunate that the present rate of  cooking gas cylinder has gone  three times, Rs  832 per subsidized gas cylinder than during the era of UPA Government. Magotra recalled that when Manmohan Singh  was the Prime Minister of India, then  the Government increased the rate of  cooking gas cylinder only Rs 20  and at that time senior BJP leaders including Samriti Irani widely protested against UPA Government in whole country. He raised the question to the stalwarts of BJP that now why they are keeping  mum and silent over this very sensitive issue related with a common man.
Magotra further said that  nation is facing several threats  due to the directionless governance under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is threat to secularism and brotherhood. He  criticized previous PDP-BJP Government and said it is a big threat to the peace of the country. Magotra also expressed that Jammu region of the State has given 25 MLA’s to represent the region in State Assembly  but they all flopped to raise the problems of the people of Jammu region particularly in the Assembly of the State even they were enjoying the ministerial birth in the previous State Government.
