Cong leaders seek high command’s intervention

JAMMU, May 12: Senior Congress leaders from Jammu have resolved that there was strong need to effectively raise the people’s issues and counter the anti-people policies of the BJP-PDP alliance.
In a meeting of Congress Party held here the senior leaders of the party discussed the role of the party, in the prevailing circumstances when the people are facing lot of day to day problems, including the development issues. The ruling alliance of PDP-BJP, having totally opposed the ideologies, is pursuing their own agenda, which is totally anti-people and they have totally forgotten the promises made by them during elections. The Congress leaders strongly felt that, there was an urgent need to effectively raise the people’s issue and counter the anti-people policies of the ruling alliance.
These leaders pointed out that the resolution has been moved for strengthening and rationalization of the Congress organization in the State. The resolution was unanimously adopted in which the Congress high command was requested for its immediate intervention in order to induce more effectiveness in the party so that the genuine interest of the people of State can be safeguarded. A delegation of Senior Congress leaders is likely to visit Delhi in order to apprise the High Command.
The leaders also expressed their full confidence in the leadership of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi and strongly felt that the strengthening of the Congress party in the State is imperative in order to defeat the communal designs of the ruling alliance. They further said that the Congress is the only party which can ensure the unity and integrity of all the three regions of the State.
It was felt by all that the lead taken by AICC president and vice president in the Parliament by uniting all the opposition parties in respect of “Land Acquition Bill” was highly appreciable. They said that the farmer community in the country have lot of hopes from Rahul Gandhi to mitigate their sufferings.
