SRINAGAR, July 10: Former Union Minister and PCC president Prof Saif-ud-din Soz has said that Congress can serve better the people than any other party and people must support it for better development.
Addressing public meeting at Khonmoh (Sonwar) here today, the PCC president said that Congress Party would lend all support to and ensure better development and solving people’s problems. He also urged the people to support Congress and strengthen its ranks. He said the party has the capacity to serve them better.
Responding to the demands of the people, Prof Soz said that he would join the people in their struggle for five main demands including completion of Gretnar drinking water scheme, provision of fire service station, provision of truck yard at Khonmoh, provision of teaching science subjects and computer lab in local Higher Secondary School and provision of adequate number of doctors at the local Primary Health Centre. Prof Soz said that these demands were genuine and he would take up them with the concerned authorities.
Minister for PHE, I&FC Sham Lal Sharma was also accompanying the PCC president. Mr Sharma assured the locals to look into their genuine demands in respect of drinking water and irrigation and address the same. Senior party leaders Khem Lata Wakhloo, Mohd Anwar Bhat, Abdul Ghani Khan Shameema Raina and Shameema Sopori also accompanied.
