JAMMU Feb 13: All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC Organizations J&K unit is organising one day national meet here on February 17.
This was stated by R K Kalsotra State president of the Confederation while talking to reporters today. He said the meet will be inaugurated at 10:00 am by Dr. Udit Raj, the national chairman of the Confederation.
Mr. Kalsotra said that about 2000 cadre of the Confederation including leaders from all States of the country are expected to participate to discuss issues which include State reservation policy its achievements and failures, reservation in recruitment under Rehbar-e-Taleem, Sehat and Zirat, adhoc/temporary appointments/Anganwari Workers/SPOs/NRHM and other state/Central schemes funded by the Government, reservation in promotion in all departments, implementation of SRO-110 of 2000 and correction in seniority list, implementation of Mandal Commission report in toto in the State, measures for stopping caste based atrocities, issues relating to reservation in the Country at central level as well as in all the States of the Union.
Mr. Kalsotra further asked the people belonging to these depressed sections to come together and pay back to the society to which they belonged. He said that awareness at social and political level is the only panacea to unite and put up a collective fight to save reservation which is meant for those deserving them the most.
Mohd. Abdullah Chowdhary, general secretary of the Confederation, Roop Krishan, Khatish Kumar, Romesh Lal, Sham Lal Bhagat, Harbans Lal, Romesh Sarmal, and others were also present in the press conference.
